One of my favourite past times is vintage or charity shopping. I love the idea that I am giving someone’s old cast offs a new home. I would much rather have something that is old and a one off than something every Tom, Dick or Harry has. I am not a follower of fashion and I like what I like so having a rummage in a charity shop is right up my street. It’s not only fashion.. It can be homewares too. A lot of bits and pieces from around the house are pre loved and have come from vintage stores, charity shops, eBay or have been given to me. I like the fact that no one else is likely to have the same as me. It makes me feel individual and I like that.
This week I treated myself to a few bits. I got some new Lotta from Stockholm clogs ( Steve, I promise this will be the last pair! I have four now!) a soft pink shirt from Hospicecare and a beautiful bird brooch from Relevant Vintage. It’s rare for me to find things that I like so I have to jump on the opportunity when it presents itself.
I have recently purchased this rather wonderful copper tray from eBay and I love, love, love it! Copper and rose gold are my “go to” colours at the moment. I just can’t get enough!
I hope that gives you a little insight into my love of vintage pieces. It’s lovely knowing that no one else has the same as you and that you have a one off don’t you think?
I also love foodie gifts. Especially if there is something homemade in there.. My boyfriend and his band were in France last week playing a gig and Steve picked me up some beautiful French jams. One he had purchased from a little market in the village they were staying in from an old French lady. How wonderful! Thanks Steve. I can’t wait to sample them all.
