Europe’s largest importer/exporter and producer of dates makes their first foray into the consumer market. Good Full Stop Bars – currently available in Holland & Barratt – and select health food stores, delis and farm shops, are set to take the healthy snack sector by storm.
Western Commodities, already a hugely successful importer / exporter of dates and date-based products based Devon, has announced the launch of its first ever consumer product – the Good Full Stop bar. Available in six different flavour combinations, with more under development, the bars offer a perfect marriage of a tasty and satisfying snack bar while being an excellent source of nutrition – all the pleasure and none of the pain. Gluten-and dairy-free, as well as being suitable for vegetarians and vegans, Good Full Stop bars have a low to medium glycaemic index, feature ingredients designed to keep you satisfied for longer and come with a number of different health benefits.
Each Good Full Stop bar contains a perfect blend of dates, date syrup, nuts and natural flavourings, with all but the double choc fruit and nut bar (still a healthy option) counting as one of your five-a-day. They are a natural source of copper and fibre, essential for an overall healthy existence, while copper is also integral for preventing premature aging and increasing energy production. The dates themselves used in Good Full Stop bars have been found to contain three times the amount of iron as in previously recorded data on the dates – with iron helping to metabolise proteins and play a role in the production of haemoglobin and red blood cells.
Cost: RRP £0.80 per 35g bar
These little healthy fruit and nut snack bars are perfect for an “on the go” snack. I am a ballet teacher by trade and teach quite often and I miss meal times when working in the evening, after school or on Saturdays. I find these Good Full Stop bars a handy bar to have in my dance bag for a little boost. They are sweet and flavoursome with the sweetness coming from the dates and date syrup. They have a low to medium glycaemic index to keep me satisfied until my next meal time whilst proving me with energy to keep going.
Another reason why I like these bars is because they are made locally to me. About 20 minutes up the road in Cullompton. So eating these helps support my local economy which I wholeheartedly believe in. There are 6 flavours to choose from. “Cherry Sweet and Cherry Good” (cherry and maple), “Sun Kissed and Good” (chocolate and orange), “Chocolate is Twice as Good” (double chocolate), “Very Nutty and Very Good” (cashew, hazelnut and almond), “Berry Berry Good” (raspberry), “Cool, Minty and Good” (chocolate and mint). Plenty of exciting flavours to choose from and get excited about with more in the development stages. Watch this space!
