HECK!

HECK! Kindly asked me to sample some of their new vegetarian and vegan products recently. Of course I jumped at the chance. The “Super Greens” quinoa bites and Thai bites sounded divine and who could pass up a delicious veggie burger. Especially when they are infused with goats cheese!?

HECK’s new range of veggie burgers, bangers and balls are now officially approved by the Vegetarian Society which is fabulous and they are very versatile. Available from Waitrose and other large supermarkets. You are never far away from your fix.

A family run business that started traditionally with top quality sausages. They have now branched out with a small vegetarian, vegan and gluten free range. The family work the farm, the factories and take their produce to shows to ensure a high quality product. They pride themselves on service and flavour. They pull out all the stops to deliver farmers’ market quality wherever you are.

I made a mezze platter with my Super Greens balls. Combining them with homemade hummus and tzatziki, roasted veggies, olives and homemade pickles. These Super Greens balls are suitable for vegans too. They are dairy and gluten free… and low in fat!

With the Thai balls I made a delicious fusion salad. Taking inspiration from my local farmers market and the HECK Thai balls, I fused local organic veggies with Thai flavours in the dressing. It was a definite winner in Tara’s Busy Kitchen. These glorious little bites are made with fragrant Thai pesto, sweet potato and sticky rice.

With the gourmet goats cheese burgers I decided to keep it simple and create a delicious burger with locally made burger buns, local goats cheese and my friend Carmens homemade dill pickles and kimchi. She’s the pickling queen! Sometimes you just can’t beat a good burger can you?
