Marmalade soft serve & a scoop of banana, chocolate & peanut. Completely delicious @creamosicecream - what a treat! I was literally shaking with the cold as I ate it but every mouthful was a joy to behold. One could say that today wasn’t a day for ice cream as it was so cold and wet but the queue outside said otherwise.🍦I highly recommend a visit if you find yourself in Ashburton. It’s not all ice cream either. Creamo’s make superb cakes and pastries too. Exeter peeps you can find Creamo’s pastries at @pullo.shop on a Saturday.

Cheese lovers behold the beauty of a perfect burrata. You have to press play on this one! 🤤 I couldn’t have had a better evening to celebrate The British Cheese Weekender. The weather on my terrace was outstanding and the English burrata made in London by @lalatteriauk being the perfect oozing accompaniment to my simple homemade spaghetti al pomodoro e basilico. When you want luxury it has to be burrata right? I can’t tell you how decadent this was you will just have to make it for yourself. 🍝 Everything should be topped with cheese in my opinion. Hairdressers have had a rough ride of late being o

Hairdressers have had a rough ride of late being one of the only businesses that haven’t been able to diversify throughout the last year or so. It’s a hands on job that can only been done in person and I have seen many of my hairdresser friends struggle throughout the pandemic both mentally and financially. Admittedly since lockdown eased two weeks ago I haven’t seen a hairdressers empty as everybody rushes back to get their locks tamed by a professional and after all those months of lost earnings and missing clients things are finally getting back to normal. Home cuts and colours are a thing of the past and my oh my, it feels good to be back in the chair. Yesterday I visited @fika_salon on the *best street in Exeter, Magdalen Road. Fika is an independent boutique salon with heart. It’s decorated tastefully with muted pinks, rattan furniture and natural wood. I completely loved the laid back style and there were luscious green plants everywhere.🪴I was welcomed warmly by Lucie Stoneman the salon owner and made to feel at home in her capable hands instantly. Lucie is passionate about sustainability, the environment and the local community she belongs to in Magdalen Rd. She carefully selected @owayofficial products for their biodynamic values as well as their ability to create and nourish. Each product comes in paper-free packaging and amber glass so completely recyclable and reusable. The colour capes biodegrade within the month; nothing here has been left to chance. You just know that Lucie wants to make the least impact on the earth as possible. She gets her milk, tea and coffee next door in @nourishzerowaste again making sure she isn’t impacting the environment and supporting her neighbour to boot.
Lucie listened to me when we talked about styling and she even gave me a tutorial on how to achieve a beach wave in my hair using straighteners. In the past curled styles have had trouble staying in my thick hair but today a full 24 hours later I still have that luscious bounce. A combination of the @owayofficial products and Lucie’s expertise. I wouldn’t hesitate in visiting Fika again.(Ad/Pr visit)

Listen up ice cream lovers, @cafepatisserieglacerie opens up tomorrow selling delightful French patisserie and gelato hand made on the premises! If you love sweet treats this has to be on your list of go-to places.

Today wasn’t the best day so I’ve decided to post some pics from Easter weekend that have lifted my mood no end🐣So thankful for the glorious weather that enabled us to enjoy our outdoor festivities.

Happy Easter. How lucky have we been with the weather? I don’t think we could have wished for better, particularly as all socialising has to remain outside for now. Steve and I have managed to sit outside everyday this week for either lunch or dinner (sometimes both) and it’s been great. Today I invited the family over to join us and it couldn’t have been a nicer day. I hope you have all managed to spend a bit of time with your nearest and dearest this Easter weekend. Here are a few snapshots of the Easter lunch I prepared for the fam all recipes from @skyemcalpine book A Table For Friends. The star of the show had to be the Torta Pasqualina. A beautiful pie filled with spinach, ricotta and eggs. Definitely something I shall add to my permanent repertoire.
