Batch #2 - Peanut Butter Brownies might just be my new favourite thing especially if you throw in a cup of tea. Then I’m one happy bunny. This batch of squidgy, fudgy brownies superseded my first efforts. I’m so happy with the results and all my taste testers have been very complimentary. Did you see @rmold in my stories yesterday? Now, that was the response I was looking for! 😂 Look out for the recipe in line with National Peanut Butter Day. Yep! There’s a National Peanut Butter Day folks and I am so glad there is. 🥜 Roll on the 24th January for more peanut buttery fun!

Red roasted beets, beautiful burgundy chicory and the greenest of salads. Shouldn’t all food be shades of red, pink and green? Those colours together just make me want to dive right in. This simple lunch was just what I needed after the most deliciously rich supper at @lecoucou_nyc the evening before. Life is all about balance don’t you think? Creamy sauces, cheese and deep red wines one night and fresh vegetables and salads the next. Don’t deprive yourself of the things that make you happy. Life is hard enough especially in these dark winter months. ❤️💖💚

I started the year as I mean to go on; being outside in the fresh air despite the weather and eating yummy food.. I had seriously epic fish and chips today on Exmouth beach. The most divinely crispy batter coating succulent fish with just the right amount of salt and vinegar. (i.e a lot!) You just can’t get better if it’s done well.👌🏻

Steve and I caught the train to Lympstone and walked along the Exe Estuary to Exmouth in less than perfect weather before doing something quintessentially British. We ate fish and chips out of paper whilst sitting in a shelter overlooking the sea. After lunch we walked back to Lympstone before heading home for a cup of tea and a slice of cake. The perks of going to bed at 10pm last night meant I was up with the lark and got my baking hat on. Toasted hazelnut, chocolate and orange Bundt cake in the oven before 8am. So far I am liking 2020! Next stop pyjamas and a movie. HNY everyone. .

Christmas Day Brunching - Homemade chocolate and pistachio cake, a citrus, rose and pomegranate salad and the obligatory Christmas Panettone adorned with a festive holly sprig. On the drinks list was a local sparkler from Dalwood Vineyard and a rather delicious non alcoholic pomegranate cocktail. Next stop, the weekend and I have menu planning to do. Christmas Cosy 🕯 .. Happy Boxing Day to you all. I had to brave the horrendous rain earlier to get to work and back again so currently thawing out on the sofa in my new pj’s with a hot water bottle. The candles are lit and the Panettone is sliced ready to enjoy alongside a cuppa. What have you been going today? Chilling with the family? Working the Christmas sales? Braving the elements? .
