There is something so special about going out for lunch on a Sunday. Yes, it’s great not having to cook and wash up obviously but it’s more than that. Being with your friends and family, catching up on the previous week’s news, sharing laughter and of course eating delicious food does us all the world of good.

It’s a proven fact that eating together brings you closer together, strengthens ties and builds better relationships. This, in turn, has a knock-on effect creating better self-esteem from a sense of belonging. It’s a win-win. So with this in mind, I headed out to meet my friend @chloeuptonstudio for a late lunch at @comptoirlibanais in @exeterqueenst a few weeks ago. How do you like your muffins? Iced, un-iced, warm from the oven.. ? Decisions, decisions. One thing I do know is that I always have to have a cup of tea alongside. I am a bit of a tea-a-holic if that’s a thing. There is something so comforting about hugging a mug of piping hot tea first thing in the morning and that last cup before bed. Not forgetting the numerous cups in between that bring a smile to my face literally every time I bring the cup to my lips. If like me you fancy a sweet treat with your cuppa mid morning than you can’t get better than my Spiced Pumpkin Muffins at this time of year. I get so much joy from whipping up something tasty and entertaining. There is something so special about sharing food that has taken a bit of time and effort; it shows you care. For me, there is nothing better than a lunch with friends, a dinner date with a loved one or sitting on the sofa with a bowl of something warming whilst watching Strictly.
