I am literally surrounded by boxes at the moment d

I am literally surrounded by boxes at the moment due to my imminent move but none filled so wonderfully than the box that arrived courtesy of @circa1924 last Saturday. The chefs there have been working tirelessly to perfect their takeaway menu available Friday & Saturday evenings as well as Sunday lunchtimes. The meals arrive chilled like a fancy pants ready meal that you cook yourself. This isn’t a microwave meal may I add... no, no, no! This is restaurant quality and all cooking instructions are easy to follow. On Saturday I took a long awaited visit to @ottervalley - Their award winning gelato was calling me. Wow! What a selection. Swipe left for a video of the freezer choc full of wonder. I mean, sea buckthorn flavour, rice pudding, cream tea? The list of unusual flavours goes on but never fear, they have what I call regular flavours too like vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. They also have a few vegan options which was great to see. My choices were rice pudding and blackcurrant and because I was in ordering duty for my friend Emma who had forgotten her face covering so couldn’t go in, I opted for Devon cream tea and chocolate. I know that girl too well and she said I couldn’t have picked better! 💁🏻‍♀️Otter Valley Ice Cream & Field Kitchen is located just the other side of Honiton and about a 25 minute drive from Exeter if you fancy a visit yourself. There is loads of outdoor seating and they are completely Covid secure. Hand sanitiser by the door, a one way system & plenty of space indoors.

No one other than me would wear a white dress foraging for blackberries would they?😂It seems a bit early for blackberry picking if you ask me but they are in abundance in my top secret location and whoppers too.🖤 I happened to stumble upon a heavily laden plum tree too. They were a little under ripe so I am taking myself back at the weekend for (hopefully) a bountiful plum harvest.

Getting my kitty cat fix from Ginger Cat. He’s pretty famous in Belle Isle Park alongside his chum Mungo. He takes the near side and Mungo the far side and they pretty much hang out chasing bees, prowling the long grass and getting cuddles from strangers. If you are missing your cat at home whilst on holiday here or you just want quality cat affection then Belle Isle Park is your spot! 😽😽

Taking inspiration from @skyemcalpine new book A ‘Table For Friends’ and her recipe for Svergognata. Ok, I didn’t have half of the ingredients stated but dried mango, pecans and dark chocolate make a fine substitute. If you love Sicilian cannoli then you will love these little pots of sweetened ricotta with dried fruit, nuts and chocolate. The perfect sweet, yet not sweet dessert to round off a feast of Italian sausages, ripe & sweet tomatoes and smooshed potatoes. Seriously, simple suppers like this don’t get any better.
