I honestly thought on Sunday “spring had sprung!

I honestly thought on Sunday “spring had sprung!” Obviously a false alarm as it’s darn chilly out. Today I was back in gloves, a thick, heavy coat and scarf. Regretted not taking my hot water bottle with me tbh!

One thing I miss during lockdown other than going

One thing I miss during lockdown other than going to a nice resto or bar is the opportunity to rummage in my favourite vintage, charity and second hand shops. I love finding something old or pre-loved either for the home or to wear. Most of the things I own in fact are second hand which makes my taste a little eclectic but completely original. I love giving a new lease of life to something old and discarded. What are you looking forward to when lockdown eases? Going to the Hairdressers? A Nail salon? Restaurants? Do share; I’d love to know where you will be heading once we are allowed. These photographs were taken today on a rather wet walk of my favourite vintage store in Exeter, @bracket_interiors . I really love the reflections on the glass looking from the outside in. 💛

Birdsong, blue skies and blooms. The essence of spring on my walk today. It got me thinking as to where the past year has gone. This time last year we were blissfully unaware that all of our worlds were to be turned upside down. How can a year have passed causing so much chaos, yet it only feels like yesterday? 🌸 Think back to how you were and what you have become. I see so much positivity out there despite the sadness. Friends are re-training in new professions, creating their own businesses and starting families. This year has been tough for us all emotionally but look how robust we are. 🙏🏻

This sunny Saturday deserves celebrating with my No Churn Ice Cream Sandwiches. A delightfully retro looking sweet treat that will fill your heart with glee and your tummy with deliciousness. I mean, what’s not to love? It’s basically whipped double cream and condensed milk in between two biscuits! Grab yourselves the few ingredients in your next shop and get making. 💕

(AD) It’s five o clock somewhere right? Oh wait.. this little aperativo is alcohol free so no worries there. @motherrootldn is a sophisticated, award winning, 100% natural and alcohol-free switchel. The recipe is based on a prohibition-era recipe but vamped up with a modern twist. I am currently hooked on Mother Root with pomegranate juice and lots of ice. Put that alongside a bowl of salt and vinegar and you’ve got yourself an awesome pre-dinner cocktail situation without the fuzzy head. That can come later! 😉

“We’re having a heatwave, a tropical heatwave”.. I can’t remember the other lyrics and by heatwave I mean it’s above 10 degrees! But, aforementioned heatwave requires ice cream sandwiches. With dining in being the only option right now I decided to treat myself to some exquisite new table linen from @angela.mugnai.emporium - I have been coveting her designs for a couple of months now but was a bit slow off the mark before Christmas so missed out on ordering. I was thrilled to see in her new collection these delightful soft pink candy stripes. So, completely me. I love everything about them. The size, the weight.. in all honesty they are simply perfect. Roll on the weekend so I can maximise their usage. They came beautifully wrapped as you can see from my little video complete with some delicious heart shaped Italian chocolates. The fabrics used come from a fourth generation Italian family business that has been operating since 1919. Angela hand picks the most glorious designs for her collection and I have to say that if I was in the position to purchase every design I would. So, if you fancy taking your meal times up a notch whilst your favourite restaurants and bars are closed maybe take a browse of her latest ever growing collection. (Not an ad - I am just a fangirl)💗
