My Week In Pictures 22/17

I have spent most of the week at Tara’s Busy Kitchen HQ on my own. Steve has been away on a boys holiday in Ibiza so I took advantage of the time alone. I have spent time with friends and family eating, drinking and being generally merry!

I visited the Fore Street Flea with my friend Angel last Sunday. It was buzzing with people looking for second hand clothing and household bargains amongst other things.

Sunday night was family night. Dinner at The City Gate with my Nan, Tim and my sister Juliet. A great city centre location for a meeting point for dinner and drinks.

On Tuesday my friend Rose came for lunch. I made a delicious tomato salad and served it with chargrilled sourdough. Rose kindly came laden with cheese and wine so a little lunch time feast developed! We sat out in my courtyard garden listening to music, chatting and eating. It was a perfect lunchtime date.

On Tuesday night I met up with my stepdad Tim for a ‘Beyond The Hedgerow’ experience at Pipers Farm. I can’t tell you how fabulous the evening was. Peter and Harry Piper were our hosts. They talked and walked us through their farming philosophy with passion and flair. I can’t recommend this event enough. Whether you are a meat or non meat eater, understanding how meat is grown and produced is a really important thing. As consumers we need to take it upon ourselves to ask more questions about our food. This will eventually make producers stand up and listen and hopefully veer them in the same direction as Pipers Farm.

I had an old school friend visit for the night on Thursday. After spending the afternoon in my courtyard garden soaking up some vitamin D we headed down to The Flat. The newest restaurant to open in Exeter specialising in vegetarian and vegan pizza and pasta. We had a fab night catching up on all the news over pizza and vino. I am planning on going back soon to do a full review so watch this space.

On Saturday I went to watch one of my students in his Royal Ballet School Associate class at Dartington. Once finished I met up with my friend Carmen for lunch at The Almond Thief. We had deliciously fresh tomatoes on toasted sourdough bread followed by coffee and cake. A perfect light lunch in my eyes.

This week coming is half term from my ballet classes so I have a little more free time to explore. I have a trip to Dalwood Vineyard planned on Thursday to celebrate English Wine Week as well as a number of lunch, coffee and dinner dates. I think it will be a fun week! Look out on Instagram stories and Twitter for up to date news.

Enjoy the sunshine everyone!
