My Week In Pictures 33/17

I started my week with a walk along the River Otter. It’s seriously beautiful down there and well worth a visit. Plus, you get to stop off at Otterton Mill for a cream tea! Delicious.

After my walk it was back home to get ready for a trip to Topsham with Steve. We had a date with our friends Nick and Harry at a charity event in aid of Hospicecare. We had a fab afternoon sipping wines, eating a yummy picnic and listening to jazz. Harry and I even got up and had a dance. There might have even been a turn around the garden doing the conga too… thankfully that wasn’t caught on camera!

Steve and I had our friend Alex visiting for a staycation. We have made this an annual event. The first thing on our agenda was lunch at Tara’s Busy Kitchen HQ. I made some summery fresh pizzas using The Spice Tailor garlic and coriander naan bread as the base. They were delicious and will be featuring in recipe form on the blog soon. Alongside the pizzas I served a little watermelon and blue cheese salad. For dessert I made the most delicious Port Poached Pear “Mess”. For the recipe click here.

We hopped on the train down to Totnes for an afternoon of ice cream, wine and tapas. Our first port of call was Delphini’s. A new gelateria making delicious homemade gelato using milk from Riverford. Such a special place and well worth a visit for slightly unusual flavours that you won’t find in the normal run of the mill ice cream parlour.

From here we headed over to Ben’s Wine And Tapas. You will find a great selection of wines and a wonderful selection of inspiring Tapas dishes.

I have also visited one of Exeter’s newest independant eateries. The Canopy was a delight and a full review will follow. Here are a few photos to whet your appetite in the mean time.

So, there you have it. The latest instalment of “My Week In Pictures”. I hope you have enjoyed reading and seeing what I have been up to this week.

Next week I have plenty of recipes for you so watch out for those. My Shillingford organic veg box came up trumps and was so inspiring. I hope you will agree when you see what I came up with.

Have a great week everybody!
