My Week In Pictures 36/17

Explore in Exeter

The new school term has started here in the U.K and that means that I start teaching again. For those of you who don’t know I am a fully qualified and registered Royal Academy of Dance teacher based in Exeter, Devon who enjoys cooking and eating in my spare time. Thankfully my job keeps me fit and active to allow for those indulgences every now and then.

I met up with two of my faves on Wednesday in Ashburton for tea and cake at Taylor’s. A ‘ye olde’ teashop that is a personal favourite of mine. The cake selection is always good, homemade with plenty of choice. We discovered that they do a pretty mean breakfast too when Sarah decided she was in savoury mode.

I don’t know if you know Ashburton at all? It’s a small town nestled on the edge of Dartmoor and a real gem. The foodie scene there is exciting and full of artisan and independant businesses. I got very excited when I discovered a new wine shop called Jaded Palates and then even more excited when the proprietor said they do tastings in a room upstairs. Not only that, they recommend you shop for nibbles in the town and bring them to enjoy alongside their wines. I feel a blog post coming on!

On Thursday it was more tea, cake and a catch up with my friend Angel. We popped into one of my favourite Exeter tea and cake spots, Cakeadoodledo.

Earlier on in the week I visited Exeter Cookery School and took part in their cheese making course with Louise Talbot from Cutting The Curd. I made halloumi, ricotta, mascarpone, mozzarella and butter so I have been sharing the fruits of my labour with friends and family all week.

Next week I have a few dates with friends.. including a trip to The Dinosaur Cafe with Viki which I am very much looking forward to. Their mezze plates are AMAZING!

I look forward to sharing it all with you. In the meantime check out my Instagram, Twitter and Facebook pages. Have a great week everyone.
