My Week In Pictures 39/17

My week in pictures

Hello all. It’s actually been a really busy week but I have barely taken any photos stupidly! Sometimes taking photos doesn’t seem appropriate, the lighting isn’t right or I am too far away. All of this has been in the back of my mind this week.

On Tuesday I headed over to St James Park to watch Exeter City play Notts County. Unfortunately we lost 3-0 so I won’t go in to that but I will mention that Tim, my stepdad was part of the half time entertainment. He plays walking football every week in his home town of Sidmouth. It’s a slightly more sedate version of regular football aimed at the over 55’s. His team were showcasing the sport to the crowd. I think it went down pretty well. But… no photos were taken. I was too far away from the action and the lighting was not ideal.

My sister, Estella was in the country for a fleeting visit this week. I caught up with her after I had finished work on Wednesday. We cracked open a bottle of Sharpham Pinot Noir and Précoce and ate Sharpham Dairy cheeses. It really was a bit of a Sharpham appreciation society!! But… again no photos were taken. We got caught up nattering. She lives in Cayman you see and we rarely get together these days. Can I just say that sharing local wine and cheeses with Estella was a highlight of my week. Our next get together will be Christmas when she comes to stay with her partner Gordon for a few days. I can’t wait.

I did a spot of recipe testing this week using Popcorn Shed popcorn and came up with this Decadent Rocky Road Terrine. For the recipe click here.

On Friday I was invited to Quicke’s Farm to take part in one of their Home Farm experiences. A unique farm experience where you learn all about the farming methods used which in turn creates the milk that then makes the cheese. A great half day out that I found interesting and inspiring. Plus, I got to hang out with the gorgeous gals that produce the milk, eat lots of cheese and eat a yummy lunch and cake at Cakeadoodledo at Quicke’s.

At the Farmers Market this week I really noticed the change in seasons. Beautiful autumnal hues caught my eye. I left the market with corn on the cob, pumpkins and beetroot amongst others. I can’t wait to cook up a storm for my friends Nick and Harry on Saturday.

Well, there you have it. My Week In (not so many) Pictures. I will try and be on the ball a little more next week. I promise.

I have lots of unconfirmed dates in my diary next week so won’t divulge too much on my movements as they might change.
