My Week In Pictures 8/17

My week in pictures

My week started with a bang. I headed to London to see my boyfriend perform with his band The Pineapple Thief. Their sell out tour ended with a packed out show at The Islington Assembly Hall.

Prior to the show Johanna and I dined at The Duke of Cambridge pub. The first and only certified organic pub which I had frequented before with my two sisters a couple of years ago. With Riverford at the helm the menu reminds me of another favourite of mine The Riverford Field Kitchen. With the soft lighting it was difficult to get any good photos but the food was spectacular. I think the cheese board was the best I had seen in recent memory.

After our big night out Johanna and I got up relatively early so we could make our way to the MaE Deli for breakfast before our train back to Devon. A great little place situated a a stones throw from Oxford Street in a quiet red brick street. I had wanted to visit for a while now and was pleased to have found the time on this visit.

I opted for a porridge breakfast bowl with chia jam, compote and oozing peanut butter and washed it down with a deliciously green Matcha latte. Johanna had the avocado smash on rye toast, a berry smoothie and a MaE coffee. I can’t tell you how delicious my porridge was and I have been thinking about it every morning since!

On Wednesday I visited two farms. The first was Shillingford Organics with my friend Carmen. We discussed some exciting plans with a possible collaboration with Shillingford Organics on the cards! Watch this space….

The second farm visit of the day was Pipers Farm near Cullompton. I was invited to an event hosted by Dean Forge and Pipers Farm. We were treated to a wonderful cooking demonstration where Peter from Pipers Farm cooked up a storm using the Dean Forge fire pit and wood burning oven. We were then treated to a delightful supper with the meat and vegetables that he had prepared.

On Thursday I met up with my friends Jemma and Gemma at Hotel Du Vin for a spot of afternoon tea. Delicious savouries, scones and mini cakes were presented to us alongside some particularly good loose leaf teas. We were really looked after and I can’t wait to return for more luscious foodie delights.

On Thursday night Steve and I went down to one of the newest hotspots in Exeter to partake in a stein or two. The Bierkeller opened its doors to a selection of local VIP’s to give a little insight into what to expect when it opens this weekend. A wide selection of beers all served up in traditional German steins.

I had an unexpected Saturday off work and so took myself down to Topsham for some girl time with Chantelle and Emma. We took a mooch around the Goat Walk and carried on through the nature reserve to Darts Farm for tea and cake. The sun was shining and it truly felt like spring.

It’s been a pretty hectic week all in all but I wouldn’t change it for the world. I am very fortunate to have talented, caring and thoughtful people in my life that I can share my time with. I am a very lucky girl.

Next week I am back to ballet but amongst all that I have a lunch date at my favourite place, The PIG at Combe with Carmen. Plus a day trip to Bath with Amber amongst other things. Please feel free to keep up to date on my day to day goings on through Instagram and Twitter. Have a fabulous week everyone.
