Yesterday I felt a bit flat. I was feeling a little under the weather and it was difficult getting myself back up to my required happiness level. I couldn’t stop thinking about my beloved late Nanny. She kept on popping into my head and it made me sad that she was no longer around.❤️ One thing that helped was reminiscing about Sunday. My first trip out of Devon for months to visit family for the day. We laughed, we ate amazing food, drank new and interesting wines but most importantly we were together. Every time you feel down think of something special to you. It really helps. Here’s a little piccie of me last sunday with my sister @estellashardlow enjoying a glass of fizz in her sunny garden. Find me a fancy pants wall and I’ll stand by it for a photo! Yesterday I had a lovely day venturing far beyond Devon’s borders for the first time in months. Steve, Tim and I left early for a day in London visiting my sisters. We ate delicious food, (thanks Estella) drank wonderful Devon wines, walked, talked and just had fun being a family together again. I also got to meet Dustin’s cousin, Indiana. 🙀All in a all a perfect Sunday despite the marathon 8 hour round trip! Tim you are a star for driving! ⭐️

Today marks a massive shift in our economic recovery from Covid-19. The hospitality industry can open its doors which is amazing. All the lovely food and drink businesses that I support, love and cherish can start doing what they do best. BUT, I am worried. Worried that some people may get carried away with their drinking and take it a step too far. I know it’s been a long time since we have been able to see others and be sociable but please take it easy. 🙏🏻 It’s important that I speak my mind here. The last few months have been tough for many. Not just financially but emotionally too. Please be respectful, please be responsible and please be kind. Remember, there is still a pandemic happening out there. People are still getting sick and dying so we must above all keep ourselves safe and keep the others safe around us. Sending love and light to you all. Have fun but please be respectful. 💫

I can’t tell you how long I have been coveting a slice of this floral, chocolate delight from @rosiebakes_ at @crankhouse130b .. ever since I set eyes on it weeks ago it has been in my thoughts. Today was the day I purchased and consumed and can I just say it lived up to all my expectations. Delicious chocolate ganache encasing a moist chocolate sponge prettied up with a purple pansy. It was seriously good fellow foodies! So, if you are in the area head on over. 🤎

It’s English Wine Week. Have you been participating? I am a massive fan of English wines much to the distress of some of my friends. I have to disagree with them. English wines to me are fresh and zingy. Think elderflower, citrus and tropical fruits to name but a few characteristics. I am lucky enough to live within touching distance of a number of vineyards that all produce fantastically quaffable wines. Even the wines from further afield are easy to get hold of now we are embracing home deliveries. To be honest, even the supermarkets have cottoned on to a good thing by stocking not just one wine but normally a selection. Things have really come on in the last few years and I think English wines are getting the awards and kudos they deserve. .

So far this week I have picnicked with @wearetheuncommon English wine in cans and entertained in my bubble with @dalwoodvineyard - tomorrow @sharpham_wine and their award winning sparkling rosé will get an outing and I am excited to try it. .
