Happy National Cream Tea Day

Happy National Cream Tea Day

To celebrate National Cream Tea Day I made a few scones, decanted some wonderful Ashclyst Dairy clotted cream into a pretty bowl and opened some delicious jams from Jill’s Jams from Kennford just outside Exeter.

I had invited my chum Lucy for a Devonshire cream tea. So out came the pretty Royal White china from Pip Studios at Bell And Blue.

We were lucky with the weather and were able to set up the table in the garden for our little treat. It was lovely catching up on all the latest news from Lucy. So much had happened since our last get together. Perfect weather and perfect company. Just what I needed to celebrate National Cream Tea Day!

I hope you all enjoy your National Cream Tea Day today too! Remember, in Devon we do cream first!

  1. So glad I saw this post, have changed my plans for tonight from a general drunkenness to an afternoon tea pity party for my friends and I who wanted a different result this morning haha! Next controversial vote – cream first or jam first? I may live in Devon but I’m definitely a jam first kinda girl (might go mad and try both later though!) xxx

    1. Definitely cream first Lucy! Cream teas always help ease the pain but I have decided to celebrate all things European over the next week or so with the vote going the way it has…Europop! Aperol spritz! Prosecco! Various delicious foods from our wonderful neighbours… I am in mourning… Xx
