Never a day goes by when I don’t reach into my jewellery box and pull out a piece of Cabinet Jewellery. You may think I am biased due to my long-standing friendship with Gemma, the founder, designer and creator but it’s more than that. Yes, Gemma is my talented friend but I can say hand on heart I wear her jewellery because it’s beautiful and ethical. On top of that it’s designed here in Devon and is British made. Something that ticks all the right boxes for me. We all should try and shop locally where we can. It can be a trip to the farmers market for your veggies or hunting out local artisans, designers and makers for your next jewellery fix. Every little helps right?
Gemma and I always brainstorm ideas together about our businesses. We try and give each other ideas to push ourselves on and sometimes this leads to impromptu photo shoots where I become a Cabinet Jewellery model for an afternoon! I have to say I love it. Getting dolled up and trying new collection pieces makes me feel incredibly special and if the content we create is useable then all the better.
A few weeks ago I spent the day with Gemma in her home with two of our other friends, Angel and Caro. We had all earmarked the day to be creative and to inspire each other. I had a recipe that I wanted to try, taste test and photograph. Gemma was updating her website and wanted some fresh new jewellery images. We called on the help of our friend and top notch photographer extraordinaire Angel Wade. Caro was on styling duty. She has an eye for the details and great taste to boot. The four of us became a dream team of inspiring women all doing our utmost to create an atmosphere that got our creative juices flowing.
It was one of the most satisfying days I had spent in such a long time. Collectively we were bouncing ideas off each other which created such a buzz of excitement. United the four of us achieved so much. Not only did we manage to capture some fabulous images (all thanks to Angel), we created a wonderful lunch to nourish us. A delicious Autumn Kale Salad full of roasted squash, goats cheese and figs plus the most wonderful Country Pumpkin Cookies. For the recipes click here and here.
After lunch we took ourselves and the doggos out for a walk to enjoy the autumnal sunshine. We were so lucky with the weather. The sun was warm and the sky was the perfect shade of blue. The Devon countryside looked magnificent and we soaked up the sunshine as if it were literally recharging our batteries for our afternoon photo shoot.
Once recharged, we took our creative energies back inside for a photo shoot for some new Cabinet Jewellery pieces. I got dressed in some of Gemma’s beautiful pieces and Angel got snapping. I think we captured some stunning results. What do you think?
We have mutually decided that this creative day was so beneficial for us all. So much so, we have already booked another date for our diaries in November. I am excited to see the results and share them with you all. We have some big plans. Get ready for some insane styling, gorgeous food and of course lots of amazing photographs by Angel. I really hope you are as excited to see the results as much as we are. It’s amazing what a group of creative minds can do.
