NGNG, Exeter

You might be fooled when walking in through the door of NGNG on Fore Street in Exeter that you have entered one of the biomes at The Eden Project. Full to bursting with amazing greenery in all shapes and sizes on the floor, hanging from the ceiling and adorning the walls. This surely has to be one of the healthiest spots in Exeter with all of that photosynthesis taking place!

Scattered amongst the plants you will find bespoke clothing, amazing greetings cards, artwork, books and ceramics. The perfect shop if you are in need of a gift for a friend or loved one. An Aladdin’s cave of joy!

There is so much to look at so you might want to treat yourself to a coffee or in my case my new found hot drink of choice, a rose and cinnamon latte. Rosewater, vanilla syrup and warm Oatly oat milk topped with cinnamon. The most perfect drink to cradle as you peruse what NGNG have to offer.

One of my main reasons for visiting NGNG was to enquire about the bespoke mounting and framing service that’s on offer. I had purchased three gorgeous prints from a flea market a while back and they had sat rolled up on my dressing table for months.

Chatting with co-owners Nathan and Hayley with prints in hand, they talked me through my options. After a consultation on where the prints were likely to be hung and my decor at home we narrowed my choices down to three light coloured woods in different price bands. Finally deciding on oak with a mount to highlight the beautiful vintage prints.

After the main business of my visit was sorted I took my rose latte in hand and started exploring the shop in detail. Dreamy ceramics by Sarah Begouin-Harris, a one time illustrator and now potter extraordinaire stole my heart and with a birthday coming up, the mugs and pots are definitely making my birthday list. There wasn’t a design of hers that I didn’t like!

The selection of greetings cards is second to none. Unusual and interesting designs with many of them being designed locally. The crazy cat lady in me drew me to the “You’re the cats Pyjamas” card obviously!!

With a three week turn around on my framing service I had to wait patiently to share this post with you! I wanted to show you the finished pieces you see. Aren’t they gorgeous?

I am completely in love with my new pictures. They have made a rather plain wall in my lounge a centrepiece.

You can find NGNG on Fore Street, Exeter or online here.

Thank you to Angel Wade for the beautiful pictures.
