Tara’s Busy Kitchen presents afternoon tea 3

I held my third Tara’s Busy Kitchen presents afternoon tea event last Sunday. A take on the popular supper club idea but serving afternoon tea. I made lots of goodies for my guests to nibble on. A Tunisian orange cake from Charlotte Lampards cookbook, some of my famous Black Forest brownies using Lyme Bay Winery cherry brandy liquor, coconut and almond macaroons with raspberry and violet jam from Louise’s Larder and scones (both savoury and sweet). My sweet scones were smothered with clotted cream and the most delicious mixed summer berry jam from Clare’s Preserves. There were plenty of finger sandwiches and savouries to enjoy too.

My guests arrived at 3pm and were greeted with a glass of Sharpham Vineyard pink fizz. A delightful drop made locally in Totnes. Once seated I delivered the laden cake stands bursting with sweet and savoury delights to each table. Next came the tea. A menu from Plymouth Tea was on offer showcasing three of their most popular blends. There was also a caffeine free choice… a refreshing peppermint tea.

My next event is scheduled for Sunday 3rd July. Let me know if you would like to come! I better get my thinking cap on and come up with some interesting cakes choices.

A few kind words from one of my guests..

“I was really excited to get the opportunity to attend the recent TBK Presents event, I follow Tara On Instagram and her pictures always look amazing and delicious in 2d! Even better I was able to invite a couple of friends! We were looking for a venue to meet up for afternoon tea anyway so it was perfect timing for us to catch up in an intimate setting. The whole afternoon was delightful. On arrival there was an immediate impact of the room set up so beautifully. Taras attention to detail with the decor & food was impeccable, everything was Just what you want from afternoon tea, delicate, delicious and so so pretty. For me the glitter topped Black Forest brownie was an extra sparkly treat.

I can’t actually do the food justice in words. Everything served was incredibly yummy and I can honestly say the best high tea I have had. From the arrival glass of Sharpham Vineyard pink fizz to my last taste of Tunisian orange cake & sip of tea I loved every aspect of the afternoon spent with my lovely friends. Thank you Tara. Please keep doing what you are doing so others can experience the perfection! xx”
