Steve and I popped for a quick pre work catch up this morning at The Exploding Bakery on Queen Street in Exeter. It’s one of my favourite places for coffee and cake in town. It’s situated almost next door to central station so perfect if you are off on a little train journey.. Or like me just work up the road!

   
        Steve opted for an Americano and I had a good old English breakfast tea. We managed to sit outside as it was mild thankfully. You can sit inside but it does get a little cosy as it’s not overly big inside. They do great coffee and make all their cakes, croissants and breads on the premises in their open plan kitchen. I personally think they have the best cakes in town!! Yum! 

  
I would highly recommend a visit if you are in town. The staff are always friendly to boot which helps with the overall appeal of the place. Can I personally recommend the vegan banana and chocolate cake as a first choice and the lumberjack cake as a second choice! So blimmin’ tasty!!
