I don’t know if you have noticed but I have gone a little Matcha Green Tea crazy of late. I can’t get enough of the stuff. I love tea of any kind and drink gallons of the stuff but I am new to Matcha. Not only is it delicious but it has numerous health benefits. It is full of antioxidants that help protect our skin from harmful UV rays giving us an appearance of younger looking skin. Matcha Green Tea also aids calm, helps you burn calories faster, detoxifies the body and boosts memory and concentration. These are all positive things in my book.

Serves 8
Prep Time
50 min
Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 2⁄3 cup sugar
- 1⁄2 cup butter
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon Matcha green tea powder (I used OMGTEA)
- 1⁄2 teaspoon baking powder
Instructions
- Cream butter in a bowl or food processor. Add sugar to the butter and mix well. Gradually add beaten eggs and mix well.
- Sift flour, baking powder, and green tea powder together and add the flour to the egg mixture. Give it a good mix up so all the ingredients are combined.
- Pour the batter into a buttered or lined loaf pan. Bake in preheated 340 degrees F/Gas 4 oven for about 30-40 minutes.
- Leave to cool and serve with natural yoghurt and a berry compot some deliciously green sliced kiwi fruit or simply alongside a cup of (green) tea.
